Top Tips for the January Sales
Even if it’s only deep down, everybody wishes it could be Christmas everyday. However, there’s one good thing to come out of the end of the festive season: January sales. Navigating the world of the January sale is a feat few are accomplished at though, so this month we’ll detail the top tips for making the most of the period.
Leave Small Children at Home
Hunting for the best bargains takes time, trawling through mountains of clothes and products and walking the length and breadth of shopping centres and market squares. Unfortunately, small children aren’t best suited for this. Leave your small children at home with grandparents to try and bag the bargains without having to come away early!
Think: Do You Really Need This?
Yes, it’s a bargain, but take a good hard look at the product before blindly going over to the till to purchase it. Is your eye drawn to the saving on RRP, or the quality of the product itself? If it’s only drawn to the amount of savings you’d make, put the item back; you don’t actually like or need it. Look for something that fits your tastes a little better instead.
Keep Your Receipts Close
That said, every year thousands of people buy things in the January sales they soon have to take back. Maybe the clothes don’t fit, maybe you buy a DVD forgetting you have it already, or perhaps the item is simply faulty – whatever the issue, you’ll need your receipt to exchange or acquire a refund. So don’t throw your receipts away!
Click & Collect
Though some items you might have to go physically hunting for in shops, a lot of products nowadays are listed online. Scour the internet for bargains and have them delivered and reserved at a store of your choice for a speedy collection. In and out in a flash.
Hold off on Treating Yourself Until After Christmas
When buying gifts for everyone in the run up to Christmas, you’ll probably end up wanting to buy yourself a treat or two for a job well done. But wait! In the January sales, items are likely to be reduced across the whole range. Make a note of the things you want and go back in January to purchase them for a fraction of the price.
Why Worry About Parking?
Finding parking during the January sales is an absolute nightmare. Everyone has the same idea as everyone else: get down to the shops for the sales. This can make finding a parking space nigh on impossible, but heading down to the shops by public transport – what with the sheer amount of shopping to take home – simply isn’t practical. Instead, you should consider hiring a minibus to put your transport worries to rest!
