Bonfire Night 2017: Our Top Picks in Yorkshire

Yorkshire – not where Guy Fawkes met his demise, but the place he was born, a fact that any Yorkshireman worth his salt will tell you. Consequently, the one-two punch that is Halloween and Bonfire Night is a pretty big deal up in the North.

Following on from our article detailing the top spots for Halloween in Yorkshire, this time, we’re doing the same for Bonfire Night. My favourite of the two, Bonfire Night brings a literal and atmospheric warmth to November just as the cold is starting to bite. So, to ensure you’ve got your tickets ready for your event of choice, here are Wyatt Coaches’ top five Bonfire Night destinations.

York Maze

Starting in York seems fitting, so here is York Maze, back rejigging their Halloween spookfest in order to make way for Bonfire Night. You can expect York’s biggest bonfire, plenty of food stalls, live music, a fireshow from the juggling inferno team, presenters from Minster FM, and a huge firework show choreographed to music.

This is certainly a jam-packed Bonfire Night event, with all of this and more taking place over the course of six hours. Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for children, with under 3s allowed to enter for free.

Elland Round Table Charity Bonfire and Firework Display

On Saturday 4th of November, Elland Round Table social club will be hosting a charity Bonfire Night at Hullen Edge Recreation Ground, Elland. It promises to be Calderdale’s largest public bonfire and firework display, featuring two separate firework displays and a huge Elland bonfire. On top of this, you can expect  a fire dance team, food stalls, hot drinks and cakes, novelties and sweets, games stalls and music. You will not be short of things to do!

What’s more, adults can enter for only £5, and children for only £2.50! This is considerably cheaper than some of the other events on offer, and is definitely worth taking into account when making your decision.

Sledmere’s Musical Fireworks Spectacular

If you simply can’t wait until November, Sledmere House is putting on their famous ‘Musical Fireworks Spectacular’ for the third year running on 28th of October. With an extraterrestrial theme, you can expect an original firework display choreographed to spacey music, alien inspired décor, fairground rides and a licensed bar.

Tickets will be £8 for adults, £4 for children and under 5s go free!

Don Valley Bowl Firework Spectacular

Held every year at Don Valley Bowl, Sheffield, the After Dark Firework Spectacular attracts up to 20,000 people! On Friday 3rd November, After Dark will be hosting the Hallam FM Stage, a giant bonfire food stalls and their famous firework display!

Stockeld Park

Since last year’s firework display at Stockeld Park was so greatly received by those in attendance, this year, it’s back again! Hosted by the same company that set 2016’s Bonfire Night ablaze, Stockeld Park will be bringing fireworks, fire breathers and an incredible soundtrack to Yorkshire on 5th November. What’s more, tickets are only £6 per person.
