Five Great Days Out in Yorkshire for a Children’s Party
Yorkshire is a beautiful county. The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, and also a section of the Peak District National Park, all contribute to the exceptional geographical features that Yorkshire has to offer. Nidderdale and the Howardian Hills are even designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
However, kids are rarely fussed about that sort of thing, so it’s lucky there’s a huge range of activities on offer for the youngsters! As the largest county in the UK, Yorkshire is full of great days out for children, and this article will show you our top five.
The Deep, Hull
If your little one is a big wildlife fan, then you’re in for a treat: The Deep, one of the UK’s most spectacular aquariums, is situated in Hull! With over 3,500 fish (including sharks and rays), plenty of themed exhibits, educational tours and a number of awards under its belt, The Deep is bound to keep a group of curious kids entertained for hours.
Web Adventure Park, York
Is your child a little indecisive? Or perhaps they don’t have the longest attention span? Either way, the Web Adventure Park in York would be the perfect way to cater to their eclectic needs. There is a huge indoor play centre, an outdoor adventure park, an eco skating rink and even a petting farm. So, you needn’t worry about going on a rainy day, and on a sunny day, you will be spoilt for choice!
Flamingo Land Resort, Kirby Misperton
If your child is a little older and looking for something a little more adrenaline-fuelled, then perhaps Flamingo Land Resort is the answer. Situated in Kirby Misperton (near Malton), Flamingo Land is a theme park filled with an array of extreme rollercoasters and various other rides, some of which all the family can enjoy.
The newest addition to their collection of rides, Hero, is effectively a simulation of flight. Riders are strapped in and then shifted horizontally, before hurtling off on an intense, swooping circuit. What more could kids want?
Rock Up, Hull
For kids who want to get their adrenaline in a little more hands-on fashion, then we suggest Rock Up in Hull – a climbing centre with a twist. Coming from New Zealand, Rock Up provides 26 climbing routes, stretching over 25 feet high, and offers enough variety to cater to everyone. There’s a vertical slide, mesh walls and plenty of bizarrely shaped structures to keep everyone engaged for hours on end. There’s even a soft play area for younger children.
Perhaps Bob the Builder is to blame, but kids love diggers. Luckily, if your child falls into that camp, then we have the perfect place: Diggerland in Castleford. At Diggerland, kids can jump into the driver’s seat of a real digger and enjoy numerous digger-themed rides with their friends, including one which digs for buried treasure!
