Top 5 Wedding Day Tips

wedding day

Planning your perfect day can be a bit of a daunting task, with so much to plan and seemingly so little time to do it in. It’s times like these when the smallest of things can look like a monumental challenge, something you just can’t bring yourself to deal with, the straw that broke the camel’s back.

In order to help you out for when your wedding day comes around, we’ve got together a list of the top hacks we think you need to know about to ensure your day proceeds without any hiccups, no matter how small.

Break your shoes in

So you’ve found the perfect shoes to top your outfit off, and in a bid to keep them in pristine condition for the big day you’ve decided you’re going to keep them locked away in their box, never to see the light of day until the wedding day.

Well, that’s probably not the greatest way to go about it, we’re not going to lie. Instead, you should wear your shoes around the house to break them in. The last thing you need is for your feet to be killing you all the live long day, making for an unnecessary discomfort that’ll spoil your experience.

Another good word of advice for brides would be to pack a pair of flats for the reception, so you can start the party as you mean to go on.

Hire a wedding coordinator

Trust us when we say you need to hire a wedding coordinator, or at the very least to delegate responsibility for a number of aspects of the day to some of your bridesmaids and groomsmen. There’s nothing worse than getting yourself worked up about having missed something in the planning or forgetting something on the day to cast a downer on your day.

Fortunately, a wedding coordinator would take care of all the intricacies of your wedding day and leave you to be ushered around enjoying your day.

Put a playlist together

If you’ve got a selection of floor fillers that you really want to hear then you should get a list of them together and hand it to the DJ or, if you’re lucky enough, the band in advance so you can be sure to hear the songs you want. Otherwise you might be doomed to whatever the DJ likes best, and that may not be the best tunes for your wedding.

Pack a survival kit

Sometimes things go a bit awry and you’ll need to be prepared to deal with them if they do. Be sure to pack a survival kit of some kind, with the key things to pack being things like tampons and a stain remover kit (because although you might think it unthinkable that your wedding dress may get something spilt on it, it certainly isn’t impossible!) and other things you can carry easily around on the day to help deal with any crisis as and when it arises.

Make sure everyone gets from A to B

More often than not people have their reception in a different place to their wedding, and as such it pays to ensure that everyone knows where they’re going and what time they need to be there for. Try and talk over the travel plans with all of your guests beforehand to make sure they either know where they’re going or if they need help getting there.

For those without a car, or for those who might be starting on the sauce a little early, it may be well worth your time to book minibuses or coaches if your wedding is really large to get your guests from A to B without any mishaps.
